It turns out we’ve been using the incorrect pronouns all these years. There’s no one to blame. It’s simply been lost in the maze of an individualistic culture and personal faith. While trumpeting the triumphs of the individual, we’ve failed to notice the accompanying orchestra, missing the forest for the trees, fixing our gaze on the “I’s” instead of “We’s”.
It’s been said you can change the world, but the truth is you can’t.
Revolution can begin in the heart of one, but it never ends alone. It’s beyond merely congregating or organizing. It’s faith transformed to action. It’s uniting in purpose with one mind, one hope, and one thought. We see glimpses of what was intended and are realizing a common vision. Jesus prayed,
“I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. (John 17:23)”
Life is not a singular journey, it’s a plural adventure. We are in this together. United in purpose. Together WE can change the world.
