There’s been something I’ve been requesting from God for some time. I won’t personally divulge this request’s identity, but I do consider it a rather large favor. I’ve been specific. I’ve been persistent. I’ve been expectant. Still I seemingly have not seen an answer.

Then yesterday on my way to film a school assembly on Highway 252 I had a revelation. As I drove by farm after farm in small town Minnesota, I realized my request was like a cow. It was bigger than me and something I couldn’t tackle on my own. In that moment I remembered a verse from Psalm 50 about God owning the cattle on a thousand hills, and I felt like God was saying,

Why do you keep asking for just a cow?

What seems big to us may just be a portion of what God has in store. He wants us to dream big and not be afraid to trust him for more. So look beyond the cow and see the thousands of cattle on the hills. All we have to do is ask.
