You can search this site or my thousands of tweets and Facebook updates, but you’ll have a hard time finding any posts on politics. I’m not one to get excited about a candidate as I would a sports team. Maybe it’s to spare myself the frustration of losing. Nor do I place hopes in political promises or agendas. Maybe because I see compromise as a skill of the profession. And I won’t affiliate myself with any party unless it comes with ice cream and a Happy Birthday chorus. I don’t see politics being about red and blue, or black and white as much as it is gray. That’s not strong enough for me to stand on.
My faith is in the sovereign Creator. My trust is in the unfailing Provider. My heart is His alone. I seek the kingdom of Christ above all else, not a kingdom of Christians.
My calling and hope are too exciting to look to the future expecting anything less than God’s best for me. His prayer is mine and that does not change. “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” A greater harvest is yet to come.
