Glorious Domain

If you happen to be a sports fan, you may notice that teams from Pittsburgh are doing quite well as of late. The Steelers just won yesterday and are looking like a serious Superbowl contender. The Pitt men’s basketball team is ranked #1 in the country and they are becoming more and more of a solid NCAA tournament sweet 16 team. And of course there’s the Penguins who made it to the Stanley Cup finals last season and are doing pretty decent this year.

My Dad was a Pittsburgh fan to the core. Even when he swore he given up on them all when they consistently lost, he still followed them thoroughly. I’m sure that compared to the direct companionship of God, sports may be inconsequential in heaven But I can’t help but think that inhabitants of the Glorious Domain still see what goes on in their previous world. And with the success of Pittsburgh sports, I’m guessing my Dad has either come to the conclusion that “heaven really is the fufillment of all my dreams,” or “hell has finally frozen over.”

Go Steelers!

I watch in his place knowing it would have been “the event” in our household. I can’t believe he is missing Pitt being No 1. I hope to see them play some zone defense.
