Bandslam

Bandslam is a suprisingly good summer movie.  It’s clean and fun and manages to avoid numerous plot cliches most movies in the teen genre fall into.  While the marketing of the movie would make you believe that the movie centers around the female leads, the reality is that its the story of a geeky boy who loves music.  The soundtrack is amazing and the live music is fun and unique.  I personally enjoyed it more than all of the major summer blockbusters that preyed upon my adolescent comic book fascination and ate holes in my wallet and then tainted cherished memories… Yes, I mean you, Transformers, GI Joe, X-Men.  I have read those classic comics recently to purge my mind of the modern films.  Bandslam is worth the money.. it’s touching and inspiring.  See it before it gets out of theaters.
